Rigid-core vinyl comes in two main flavours: SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) and WPC (Wood Plastic Composite). Both are waterproof and click together, but they feel and perform differently.
SPC — stone core
SPC has a dense stone-based core. It's thinner, harder, and more dent-resistant, which makes it excellent for high-traffic areas, heavy furniture, and commercial use. It also copes well with temperature change.
WPC — wood core
WPC has a slightly foamed wood-composite core, so it's softer and warmer underfoot. It's a comfortable choice for residential living areas where feel matters more than maximum dent resistance.
